Rahul is a serial entrepreneur, technologist, and leader. Before Red Sift, he founded Apsmart which was acquired by Thomson Reuters Corporation in 2012. At Thomson Reuters, he served as the Head of Advanced Products & Innovation. In a previous life, he was part of the founding team and principal technical architect of Shazam. Before the launch of the iTunes AppStore, he envisioned and created the first Shazam iPhone App.

A qualified chartered accountant with 30 years’ standing, Stuart led the $54m Series B in January 2022 and secured venture debt, underpinning expansion across North America, EMEA, and Australia. Previous roles span Lineup Systems (CFO), GlobalExpense (CFO/Technology Director; sale to Concur), aQuantive Europe (EMEA CFO; later Microsoft finance), and Infogain (UK CFO/COO). Focus areas include fundraising and M&A, board and investor relations, strategic planning, FP&A, and governance.

His work on the popular free tools Hardenize and SSL Labs helped make millions of websites more secure. His book, "Bulletproof TLS and PKI," is the de facto SSL/TLS and PKI reference manual. Before that, he created ModSecurity, a leading open-source web application firewall. He's a frequent speaker at industry conferences, having spoken at Black Hat, OWASP AppSec, RSAC, and many others. He works as Chief Scientist at Red Sift.
